    Please no dehumidifiers, thank you.

    Fixit Items

Why fix it? Bring your broken items back to life!

Our Fix It Clinic can help you by...

    • Saving you money.
    • Preserving old items of value to you.
    • Reducing waste in your community.

Please bring any replacement parts you have available with you. First come, first served. These events are for residents who need their own items fixed. These events are not intended for businesses. In an effort to assist as many people as possible, we will try to repair one item first and the volunteers will try to repair any additional items as time allows.

Volunteer at a Fix-It Clinic in Anoka County

If you can troubleshoot repairs for broken items, consider volunteering at a Fix-It Clinic. Volunteer fixers who have skills in soldering, electronics repair, electrical repair, sewing, and general tinkering are essential to a successful Fix-It Clinic. Watch this video for more information about the Fix-It Clinic.

This 1-hour CE class introduces Minnesota real estate agents to climate-conscious resources that they can pass along to their clients. Chances are, your clients want to make sustainable choices and reduce their negative impact on the environment. While many consumers think sustainability requires new "green" products, reused materials are our best option to reduce our carbon emissions and energy usage. This class equips real estate agents with the most up-to-date and localized resources in the Twin Cities' reuse economy.

You will learn where to find local reuse and repair resources, how to best share information with clients, and why reuse is essential to building a more sustainable future. Your instructors are Emily Barker, Executive Director of Reuse Minnesota, and Natalie Heneghan, Community Outreach Director at Habitat for Humanity of the Greater La Crosse Region. This course is approved for 1 hour of CE credit for real estate agents and tickets are $20. This class is free to the public. Homeowners planning a renovation project, contractors, and anyone interested in creating a more sustainable future are encouraged to attend.

This class is brought to you by the Education program at Rethos: Places Reimagined. Rethos is proud to offer a variety of classes to homeowners, students, realtors, and anyone who loves old buildings. The Rethos Education program is funded in part by the Arts & Cultural Legacy Fund through the Minnesota Historical Society.

The clothing swap is open to everyone, including nonresidents and families. Participants are encouraged to bring clothing to swap with other people, but no donation is required to join and everything is free to take home.

The drop-off for clothing donations will be 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m. Wednesday, May 8, at Braemar Arena’s main entrance. Directional signs will be posted. This allows people to donate clothing even if they cannot attend the main swapping event the next day.

Clothing for all ages and types are encouraged for the swap. A special collection this year will include Halloween costumes (human and pets). Several community organizations will be onsite connecting people to resources and activities that further our climate action goals.

To make the event a success, many volunteers and partners are needed. Duties include setting up the event, accepting donations, weighing bags, counting attendance and cleaning up after. Accompanied minors, teams and groups are all welcomed. If interested, fill out the volunteer form at https://bit.ly/3T0PARr

    • St. Louis Park Recreation Outdoor Center, 3700 Monterey Drive

While many of the City of St. Louis Park's programs focus on recycling and organics, we know that the best way to reduce your impact on our planet is by preventing and reducing waste in the first place. Reuse is a great way to keep existing items out of the trash, while also reducing the demand for new products.

Swaps events are great opportunities to clear out items you no longer use and take home new treasures. These events are free and open to everyone! No items may be sold; everything must be given and taken freely. A limit of 5 boxes can be brought to the swaps. All swaps will be from 5-7 p.m.

Items not accepted: chemicals (including fertilizers and pesticides), perennials, plastic pots or broken items. To reduce the spread of jumping worms, only house plants, seedlings and annuals are allowed.

Why fix it? Bring your broken items back to life!

Our Fix It Clinic can help you by...
