Reuse Minnesota recognizes that there is a need to engage in the legislative process to advance policies that support reuse in Minnesota. Some legislation, such as Right to Repair, has a direct impact on the reuse sector and our members. Other legislation may be more tangential, but with downstream or longer-term impacts on the reuse sector. In both cases, Reuse Minnesota serves as a voice for our members in the policymaking process.
Members who are aware of proposed policies that may impact the reuse sector are encouraged to contact our staff.
Right to RepairIn partnership with repair.org and several Minnesota organizations, Reuse Minnesota is part of the grassroots effort to move digital Right to Repair legislation forward in the state. If passed, it would require manufacturers of electronic devices, appliances, and machinery to make the information, parts, and tools necessary for repairs available to individuals and independent repair shops.
