On August 20, Reuse Minnesota hosted our quarterly member meeting, bringing members together for a day of tours, learning, networking, and community building.
We kicked off the day with visits to two of our member organizations: The Stashery at The Textile Center in Minneapolis and Hidden Treasures Thrift Store in St. Anthony. After touring both organizations, we gathered at the City of St. Anthony Village City Hall for our member meeting.
Touring The Stashery at The Textile Center
Our first stop was The Stashery at The Textile Center, where we toured the space and learned more about its programming and resources for textile artists and makers.
We got a behind-the-scenes look at their dye garden and learned about their flower pressing classes. Members also had the opportunity to tour the dye lab, which includes a dye vat, washer, dryer, and sink, as well as the classroom space. Both spaces are available for rent to Textile Center members!
The Textile Center is also home to the largest fiber arts circulating library in the nation, featuring books, magazines, and other media materials.
Looking ahead, mark your calendars for The Textile Garage Sale in April 2027. The event brings together artists, makers, and textile enthusiasts from across the region, with materials available at deeply discounted prices. Can't wait that long? The Stashery's secondhand textile supplies store is open year-round!
Our members enjoyed learning more about The Textile Center's classes, programming, and resources—and, of course, doing a little shopping in the store!
Visiting Hidden Treasures Thrift Store
Next, we headed to Hidden Treasures Thrift Store in St. Anthony, where we learned more about the organization's unique mission and impact on the community. 
Hidden Treasures is a nonprofit that works with people in recovery, providing employment opportunities while helping individuals build community, develop life skills, and gain basic job training.
The 14,000-square-foot thrift store is packed with treasures, including clothing, books, furniture, and much more. And if you're looking for a deal, be sure to stop by on Mondays, when select colored tags are marked down!
We also learned about Hidden Treasures' annual pop-up Christmas sale. It takes the team 2.5 months to prepare for the sale, and we got a behind-the-scenes look at the storage area where their seasonal merchandise is kept.
As an anchor for the shopping center, Hidden Treasures has become a beloved community staple. The store draws shoppers to the area who often visit other nearby businesses while they're there, creating a positive ripple effect throughout the shopping center.
Gathering for our quarterly member meeting
After touring both member organizations, we headed to the City of St. Anthony Village City Hall for the business portion of our quarterly meeting.
During the meeting, we shared updates and plans for our 2026 gift guide, discussed the upcoming Reuse Minnesota board election, provided programming updates, and talked about our online silent auction. We also welcomed Minnesota Waste Wise as our member showcase presenter.
It was a great opportunity to connect, share ideas, learn from one another, and hear more about the work happening across our reuse community.
