Fiber Art for All is Textile Center’s yearly winter Open House celebrating all things fiber art!
Featuring a Makers Market with 25 local artists, hands-on fiber art demos with our staff and teaching artists, coffee, music, a scavenger hunt, and more, it’s a chance to make connections and find inspiration during Minnesota’s coldest and darkest season!
We are excited to welcome Cool Trash for a special demo on making plarn (“yarn” made from plastic bags). Use your plarn, or scrap fabrics and yarn remnants from The Stashery, and add to our “Scrapestry” / upcycled tapestry!
Free and open to the public, there’s opportunities for all to explore, create, shop, and engage with fiber art in all its forms.
This year we are expanding the event to two days, with our Friday evening opening day (5:30 – 8 pm, Feb 20) featuring music from DJ Jacques, and our Saturday full-day event (10 am – 4 pm, Feb 21) featuring a pop-up coffee cart from local coffee shop Misfit.
This year’s theme is Growing Community. We are honoring the pollinators that help our dye garden and Minnesota landscapes thrive through our Fiber Pollinator Garden, a community installation that we invite everyone to participate in! Learn more here.
We hope to see you for this lively gathering of creatives, artists, and those curious about fiber arts and Textile Center!
