Join Edina’s fifth popular, free and fashionably fun clothing swap! The reuse-focused event will be held 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, April 18, at Edina Senior Center, 5280 Grandview Square.
The clothing swap is open to everyone, including nonresidents and families. Participants are encouraged to bring clothing to swap with other people, but no clothing or monetary donation is required to join in and everything is free to take home. Again this year, non-perishable food items will be collected for Volunteers Enlisted to Assist People (VEAP). A food donation is not required, but much appreciated.
The pre-drop-off period for clothing donations will be Monday, April 13 through Friday, April 17, during regular business hours at the Edina Senior Center and Edina Library, or donations can be brought directly to the event.
Parking is limited at the Senior Center and Library, but it will be available at the parking ramp across the street. Carpooling and public transit are encouraged.
Clothing for all ages and types are welcome at the swap. Special collections this year include used running shoes for the Warrior Dog Foundation and used sarees and ethnic wear for the Edina Asian American Alliance.
To make this Earth Day event a success, many volunteers are needed. Duties include setting up the event, accepting donations, weighing bags, counting attendance and cleaning up after. Accompanied minors, teams and groups are all welcomed. If interested, email Singh by April 11.
Any leftover clothing donations will be given to a local community partner.
