RICHFIELD, Minn.—Reuse Minnesota will host a free, hands-on Fix & Mend Fest on Saturday, February 20, 2027, from 10 AM to 3 PM at the Richfield Community Center, 7000 Nicollet Ave., Richfield, MN 55423. The event will help community members learn practical repair and mending skills they can use in everyday life, encouraging repair over replacement.
Reuse Minnesota is now accepting proposals from individuals interested in sharing their repair, fixing, and mending expertise. Selected presenters will receive a $100 honorarium.
Sessions should fit within 15- to 75-minute time slots. Shorter sessions may be scheduled more than once during the day. All sessions must be in person; virtual presentations cannot be accommodated. Individuals proposing multiple, unrelated topics should submit a separate proposal for each session.
Potential topics include mending clothing, fixing zippers, darning socks, repairing lamps and electronics, replacing bike tires or chains, restoring wood furniture, repairing books and jewelry, and soldering basics.
Proposal deadline: Sunday, November 15, 2026, at 10 PM.
Fix & Mend Fest invites attendees to learn from skilled community members, try hands-on repairs, and discover ways to give broken or worn-out items a second life.
The event is hosted by Reuse Minnesota and funded by Hennepin County’s Green Partners Grant.
